Orgasm and Ejaculation Issues
Orgasming too quickly, Premature Ejaculation (PE), is a common problem. But taking too long to orgasm, Delayed Ejaculation (DE), sometimes known as inhibited or retarded ejaculation, is also a problem for some men.
Men with PE struggle to control their physical arousal, climaxing so quickly that pleasure and intimacy are cut short. Men with DE may take up to 20 minutes to orgasm through penetration. Some struggle to orgasm at all. Either way it’s frustrating and distressing. Sex feels incomplete and partners feel frustrated and rejected.
Sex therapy can help men overcome PE by lowering their anxiety and giving them exercises to build confidence in and control over their arousal. Clients gain awareness of their arousal process and learn to slow down their responses.
DE is common in men experiencing anxiety around sex and low sexual confidence. They may be less sexually experienced and may not have fully explored what turns them on. We work to reduce their anxieties and coach them to relax to the point where they can lean into the fuller sexual pleasure needed for a satisfying climax.
